Meet the Healey family, winners of our photography competition in association with James Crockford Photography
Earlier this year we teamed up with James Crockford Photography to offer one reader a family photoshoot in the location of their choice. The winner was Liz Healey, manager of Warwick Tourist Information Centre. James takes up the story:
I met Liz and her family husband Mike, son Jack, daughter Liv and Leyla the dog on the bridge over the river Avon, next to St Nicholas Park.
We started our photo session in St Nicholas Park itself. It is a popular area for families and the river was busy with row boats, so we spent a bit of time wandering around, while I photographed Jack and Liv, as well as Liz and Mike.
Liz was a very interesting person to walk around Warwick with. She works in the Tourist Information Centre, and so knows a lot about the town, and also knows many of the people.
She had the idea to walk down Mill Street, a beautiful cobbled street leading to the where the castle meets the river. I was so glad she did when she led us to Mill Gardens a beautiful garden hidden away from the town, with the river flowing past, and the castle rising up behind it.
It was a lovely place to get some more photographs of the whole family together, and they really summed up Warwick for me picturesque views of the castle and river in a beautiful garden. I can recommend Mill Gardens to anyone who is looking for an oasis to relax and enjoy the setting.
As Leyla the dog couldnt come into the gardens she waited patiently outside with a colleague of Lizs, so I made sure that I also took some special photo of her too pets are always such an important part of families I never miss them out.
