What are you studying?
Im doing my GCSEs studying Maths, English, Science, French, Food Technology, Business and communication systems and Physical Education. Im also working towards my silver Duke of Edinburgh Award.
Tell us about yourself and what you have done to be a bright young thing?
I have had my own flock of pedigree sheep since the age of ten. Theyre a Dutch breed called Zwartbles. I spend the summer months camping with my mum around the country at different agricultural shows, such as the Three Counties, Moreton-in-Marsh and Burwurton. We really miss The Royal Show. Over the past few years, my sheep have won Reserve Female Champion, Male Champion and top price ram at The Worcester Show and Sale. Ive also won personal awards such as The Duke of Edinburgh Stockmanship Award, The Strutt and Parker Young Countryside Person of the Year Award and many young handlers competitions.
I start lambing in January, so I can have big enough lambs to show. Its a very exciting time of year. This year I have had 17 lambs, which give me great pleasure, watching them skip and race around on sunny days. I have recently spent the afternoon at the local butchers shop, Checketts in Moreton in Marsh learning how to butcher one of my lamb carcasses I learnt so much about meat.
What are you ambitions?
My immediate ambition is to breed another champion sheep in the next couple of years. Id also like to train my own sheep dog one day. I want to achieve good grades in my GCSEs, have a successful career and one day run the London marathon.
Whats best about Warwickshire?
The best things in Warwickshire are hunting, the countryside, The Kingsley School and my friends and family.
What do you do in your spare time?
In my spare time, I ride my horse and enjoy hacking out with family and friends, doing competitions and pony club. In the winter, I go hunting on most Saturdays, either on foot or on my horse. I enjoy spending time with my friends. Some of my spare time is spent dealing with my sheep, feeding them, filling out entry forms, and all the necessary paperwork. Ive also started having shooting lessons which I thoroughly enjoy. I also enjoy cooking, particularly making cakes.
What is your favourite:
Michael Morpergos Out of the Ashes
(a story about Foot and Mouth Disease) and War Horse (I have seen the production and its fantastic.)
Harry Potter I was lucky enough to
be invited to visit the studios and see some of the filming of The Deathly Hallows. This really brought the film to life for me.
Countryfile and Lambing Live I really admire Adam Henson - he is so passionate about farming and the countryside. I would love to be a presenter on either of these programmes.
