Since 1946 one of the highlights of Warwickshires rural year is The Forest of Arden Agricultural Society annual ploughing and hedging match, when in the space of about 4 hours around 60 masters of the art of ploughing are pitted against each other in a test of their skills.

Some drive vintage tractors and trailed ploughs, others may have a classic tractor and a mounted plough, some still come with a team of horses, but all of them have one thing in common, a love of the land and the feeling of satisfaction that comes from a job well done.

This years match was held at Northbrook Farm, Sherbourne, near Warwick, where under the beady eyes of the judges each ploughman strove to create a straight furrow.
