The Oak at Hockley Heath was invaded by 144 ladies bearing gifts of knickers, bras and vests for a lunch hosted by radio and TV presenter Joanne Malin. The cause was Knickers4Africa, a charity founded by Emma Donovan who discovered, on a visit to Sierra Leone, that underwear in Africa is in short supply and very expensive. Sue says: I came across the charity in an article and was deeply touched to read that so many Africans have no underwear at all. And, most disturbing, that females without underwear are far more likely to be raped which is really shocking. More information about this worthy charity can be found at www.knickers4africa.co.uk
