Jo Cameron of BBC’s The Apprentice is set to bring a new element of her women’s leadership academy to Leamington Spa – targeted at established local businesses.
Jo Cameron, who featured in series two of the TV show, will launch her first ever ‘Prime’ business ladies community at a free event taking place at 5pm on Monday March 10 in the town’s Episode Hotel.
The launch, which aims to attract female owners of established businesses, is part of Ms Cameron’s Achievers Academy for Women – a nationally-recognised community which provides a monthly meeting where women can share their expertise and have meaningful conversations with like-minded businesswomen.
Her academy boasts 150 members across 16 groups in the UK.
Aside from the monthly meetings and regular social events, the academy has grown to include a dedicated online community, an annual awards event and conference, free personal development workshops and weekly online forums.
Members also have the opportunity to join Ms Cameron on her annual ‘Rejuvenate’ programme in Tenerife.
The new Leamington group will be led by Caroline Kempster, founder and Marketing Director of Warwickshire-based property specialists, The Letting People.
Ms Cameron, 43, who lives in Leamington, said: “Leamington has a huge amount of talented businesswomen who are on the same wavelength and who want to develop their leadership capacity.
“They are energetic leaders who want to mix with others who have similar ambitions, and who are keen to implement personal and business improvements, not just talk about them.
“Since 2011 the academy has proved to be a life-changing platform. In many ways it has given a magic formula to members who are still buzzing with excitement and come out of every meeting re-energised.
“It isn’t forced networking or pitching people into an intimidating environment with a handful of business cards.
“It is going to be full of energy and somewhere owners of businesses in their prime can have the conversations they crave – everything from growth plans, goal setting, exiting or selling their businesses or succession planning.
“Caroline has developed the idea to create a community of local businesswomen with a unique atmosphere. It’s going to be a special group and the free launch event will reveal everything.”
Caroline Kempster added: “I am extremely excited about the launch of a local business community which is really unique.
“Jo’s Achievers Academy is all about inspiring women and giving them access to a community of like-minded, first-class businesswomen. It has made such an impact on me but I felt we could take it further and offer something exclusive for ladies with established businesses and who are bursting with knowledge.
“Our new ‘Prime’ group will focus on bringing those businesswomen together - women who want to start reaping what they’ve sown and who are planning for the future.
“The launch event is free to attend and it promises to be a great evening and hopefully, a great community of ladies.”
