Retail Birmingham turned the spotlight onto the fabulous mix of independent retailers across the city centre with its Celebration of Independents catwalk show at Great Western Arcade part of the Celebration of Independents week.

Showcasing the hidden gems that make Birmingham such a unique shopping experience, more than 300 of the citys most stylish guests arrived to watch the dramatic catwalk show featuring eight vibrant trend-led scenes including The Mad Hatters Tea Party and Pimms on the Lawn, all set to contemporary orchestral scores. Displaying the latest menswear and womenswear from key independent retailers, the venue provided the perfect summer garden party setting complete with bunting, a living water statue, Bellini cocktails and even a green grass catwalk.

The stores featured in the show included drinks, treats and canaps from 90 Day Caf, Mr Simms Olde Sweet Shoppe, Anderson & Hill, Victoria Restaurant and Bitters n Twisted Venues, as well as fashion from Disorder, Smithsonia, Breina, Autograph, Sonique, Metsuki, Atoo, Aspecto, Prowler, Onu, Beadesaurus, Wysteria Lane and Norton & Townsend. Shoes were provided by Silk Step and Simms Footwear and hairstyling by Benjamin Ryan Hair & Beauty.
