An English Summer by Nick Hodgson

Nick, from Leamington Spa, is director of Nicholas Jon, a specialist catering recruitment agency. He says: The photo was taken last summer, at Stoneleigh Abbey, the ground where Stoneleigh Cricket Club play. Stoneleigh Cricket Club is one of the oldest cricket clubs in Warwickshire and officially the most beautiful ground in England in 2003, as voted by Wisden Cricketer. I have always been interested in photography, in fact one of my earliest memories was helping my father transform the loft into a dark room! My wife brought me the DSLR camera, I shot this photograph with, a few years ago.

Winter in Warwick by Liz Healey

Liz, from Evesham, is Manager of Warwick Tourist Information Centre. She says: The photo was taken on a beautiful, crisp, frosty day in December 2010, the conditions were just perfect. I usually only take family snapshots but had been trying to build up a selection of photos for the Tourist Information Centre. I am a real amateur but had a good camera and a beautiful day.

Compton Verney Trees by Tim Greenway

Tim, a chartered engineer from Combrook, took this photo from the footpath passing through the grounds of Compton Verney. He says: The sun had just risen to the left of the shot, creating the highlight on the tree and soft shadows to the right. The camera was on a tripod and I had to move around a little to hide the bench that is behind the first tree! I liked the shot because of the way the line of the trees led the eye into the shot, the softness of the colours, and the way the (compact) camera lost the detail and rendered the scene almost akin to a painting. Ive enjoyed photography since I was at school, initially shooting school plays and developing black and white film in the darkroom. Since then Ive been fortunate to travel with my work, which has enabled me to capture images around Europe, North America, Africa and Asia. Closer to home, I enjoy taking local landscapes and shots of my family and friends.
