We are delighted to launch the Warwickshire Life and Worcestershire Life Food & Drink Awards to be held at Spring Grove House, Bewdley on Thursday, October 18, 2012.
The Warwickshire Life and Worcestershire Life Food & Drink Awards are designed to champion, highlight and offer a showcase to the good and the great from the regions food and drink industries including producers and suppliers, small farming businesses, chefs, restaurants, pubs hoteliers, and other places and people who care about the countryside and environment.

Nominations will be voted for by the people who consume the food and drink produced across the region. Entry forms can be found within the magazine and will also feature in the August issues of Warwickshire Life and Worcestershire Life. You can also nominate on our website by clicking here. Entries for each category will close on Friday, August, 10, 2012. After this date our panel of judges will compile a shortlist of three finalists for each category to undergo the independent judging process. All of the shortlisted finalists will be invited to the prestigious ceremony where the winners will be announced.
Newcomer of the Year
This category is open to businesses and individuals within the food and drink industry that have embarked on a new venture within the last 12 months. They will have grasped opportunity to create a positive impact on the local food and drink community and will be starting to create a more widespread success.
Butcher of the Year
Our second category, Butcher of the Year, is to celebrate the local meat providers. Does your butcher go out of their way to deliver the freshest meat that can be traced to local farms? Do they offer meat that is best hung, prepared and cut? If so, let us know.
Independent Retailer of the Year
Recognise and illustrate how much your neighbourhood food and drink independent retailer contributes to your community. The winner of this category will display a passion for selling produce that stems from close to home and who is willing to celebrate the delights that Warwickshire/Worcestershire have to offer.
Local Tea/Coffee Shop of the Year
Nothing represents a typical English afternoon as much as a pot of tea and a cake, but does nothing say local more that your community tea or coffee shop? Are the scones freshly baked and served with local jams? Is there a good selection of coffees and loose leaf teas to hand? If your local tea/coffee shop is the best, let us know.
Best Farm Shop
The key to a good farm shop is not only the vast range of easily accessible produce, but also the principles that the owner supports. Do they work with other farmers under the same roof to increase the produce selection? Do they offer a box scheme? If your farm shop is worth a visit, share the reasons why by nominating them.

Food Product of 2012
The food and drink industry, today, proves tobe a competitive onewith consumers demanding top quality products. This category allows you to nominate a food product that stands out. Is the taste of this product incomparable to any other? Does the packaging provide extensive knowledge into the item?

Drinks Product of 2012
This category provides the chance to nominate your favourite drinks product. To choose your favourite consider the innovativeness of the item and whether this was achieved to a high level without compromising on taste, indulgence and value for money.
Best Local Supplier/Producer
This category aims to celebrate our local suppliers and producers that play such a vital role in the food community. The winner of this category will be an individual or company that consistently provides reliable, quality products to customers and who is always willing and wanting to go further.

Pub of the Year
Combining country pubs, dining pubs and neighbourhood pubs, we want to know why your local offers it all, for example: seasonal produce, the best ale, local fruit juices. Note the overall atmosphere and ambience, both inside and outdoors from cosy lounges with open fires to child-friendly gardens with vegetable patches.

Both counties play home to some of the most remarkable chefs, but what makes them stand out for you?
